In the Cup on One |
Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Simi Hills. Gene Vano hit what was described as “simply the finest golf shot I’ve ever made”. He was referring to the Cobra 2 Baffler he hit to #8. Blue pin playing 182 yards into a strong wind. The ball hit the green and rolled right in. This is Gene’s second hole in one. He recorded one earlier at La Purisima less than 2 years ago. Witnessing Gene’s most recent gem were Ron Anticevich, Bill Anapolsky and Harry Meyer. Congratulations Gene on the wonderful shot!
Thursday, April 8, 2010 at River Ridge Vineyard course, Dennis Brown recorded his first hole in one. 18th hole, island green (congers up old memories — they aren’t pretty). Hole played 166 yards into a slight wind. Dennis hit his best ever 4-iron into the setting sun, he saw the ball hit the green but because of the sun, he didn’t see the ball go in the hole. The group that finished just in front of Dennis, notified him that he had Aced the hole! Congratulations on an excellent shot!
Friday, January 29, 2010 at Simi. Tim Imel played hole #15 as he found it, 188 yards, Blue pin, back right location. Well, his Cleveland Hybrid #4 seemed like the right stick. Tim Aced The Hole! Nobody saw it go into the hole! Great shot Tim, that 1 on the scorecard brought you in with an 89. Congratulations!
Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Simi. Ron Anticevich nailed a wind-aided pitching wedge to our number 4 hole. It hit the ground just left and short of the pin, rolling to bottom of the cup. Congratulations Ron! (150 yard pitching wedge, has Ron been working out?)
Sunday, December 13, 2009 Bob Hindson played his favorite hole in the world, #4 at Simi. To a blue pin, Bob hit a 5 iron into the hole. This is Bob's second ace, both at ol' #4. They came within 18 months of each other.
On Saturday, December 5, 2009 in one of our tournaments, Roger Omae Aced the 8th hole at Olivas Links. The hole played 165 yards. Roger used a 7-iron to send the ball to bottom of the cup. Congratulations Roger! |
